Diving in Mexico

If you stay inland, you are probably enthusiastic to get to your nearest coast to get a taste of diving to see what wonders it may hold. Diving is a really exciting activity if done in the right place, but finding the right place is not as easy as consulting with the local travel agency for a map to the nearest shore. To get to the best diving spots you need to think big on a worldwide level and diving Mexico can be an awesome adventure because they have a variety of dive spots.

Scuba diving in Mexico is famous for its beautiful marine life and its clear coral reefs. Dont stress out about getting lost in Mexico and not being able to find the perfect dive spot because Mexicos coast is scattered with dive resorts, towns and information centers that you can easily stay or make an inquiry in. Dive holidays in Mexico usually come in great packages and many times are combined with the travel accommodations.

If size is a factor, set your eyes on the Great Maya Reef since it is considered the second largest reef system in the world. It has great underwater currents running at average temperature so that sea life all around the reef develops.

The Great Maya Reef is a perfect Mexico dive spot and can also be a great area for swimming and snorkeling too. With its crystal clear waters, you have the best view in witnessing the fine coral even when you are diving deep.

If you are interest in a tourism experience in addition to diving, you should consider heading to Riviera Maya which is parallel to Quintana Roo, Mexico, the Caribbean coastline. This is the best place to find all-inclusive resorts for your delectation. Around it you have majestic places to visit like the Mayan ruins of Tulum and the ancient Chichen Itza. If you're diving in the Riviera Maya area you would also be interested in the Belize barrier reef.

Those seeking an island experience should visit Cozumel. The Cozumel dive spots promise well preserved coral reefs which will definitely make you dive into the deeper depths for exploration. The town of San Miguel de Cozumel located in the northern part of the island is the largest town in the area and the place where all tourists around the world go shopping for gear and stay in the many Cozumel dive resorts. Divers in the Cozumel island will enjoy the coral swim-throughs in the Palancar Reef located in the southwestern side.
