Treatment for anxiety attacks

By Kathy Nelson

If you feel that you may be having an anxiety attack the first thing you need to do it not panic, and I know that is easier than it sounds. Once the feelings of anxiety have passed then it is time to seek help from a medical professional. Don't try and guess a diagnosis, don't let your friends tell you what it is , unless they are a qualified Dr.

There are no miracle cures for anxiety, and attacking the symptoms of your anxiety attacks only fights half of the problem. The doctor will try and rule out any medical conditions first. You should be upfront with your doctor if you are taking any medications or have any diseases that can bring about the symptoms of a anxiety attack.

If you are already on medication for anything at all you must allow the Dr to decide if it is important or not. When you are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks it is not a good idea to try and hide things from your Dr. If you are honest with him he will be in a much better position to assist you.

Your physical health could be causing your anxiety, do you have a heart condition or maybe you suffer from low blood sugar? Maybe you drink enough coffee every day to keep starbucks in profit for a year? These are all physical things that could be the cause of or part of your anxiety attacks.

There are no typical anxiety sufferers, everyone of us is similar in some ways but different in so many other way. The way we live is a huge part of that, if you look after your body you are less likely to suffer from anxiety, it is not a sure thing still but it will definitely help you.

Do you find that anxiety is taking over your life, making it impossible to be the same person you once were. Maybe you used to be known for your sharp appearance and now you can barely be bothered showering, maybe you don't sleep for days on end. Anxiety is taking over your life and you need to start fighting back.

Stress and anxiety can be a part of normal life for many people. The way you handle this stress is the difference between an anxiety attack sufferer and a person that can cope properly. If the everyday stress is pushing you towards anxiety attacks then it is time to look for an anxiety treatment that will help you cope.

You are not the first person to have anxiety attacks and you won't be the last, your Dr has seen people with it before and will be able to direct you to places where you can get help to deal with your anxiety. With the assistance of a Dr you can put your life back together and move forward. - 20897
