What You Can Do For Your Valentine By Penny Lee

By Penny Lee

Valentine's Day - According to stories handed down over centuries, began in the year 270AD on the 14th February. A priest named Valentine was devoted to Christianity. Emperor Claudius III declared this a crime, punishable by death! The priest would not deny his faith and died a martyr. The memory of his love and trust is shared by millions every year.

A Valentine's Day card makes your smile wider and your day brighter. Millions are sent every year, many people design and make them. Some have them specially designed and personalised. You maybe too shy to speak the words of love, how romantic that a card can do it for you.

A last minute gift that's always available are flowers, it's always acceptable too. Orange Blossom gives the message of innocence, eternal love and marriage. The beautiful Blue Violet means faithful and true, the Red Rose says I love you. Any or a combination of these would make Valentine's Day more romantic.

Valentine's day gifts abound and there are many to choose from. A favourite is heart shaped chocolates, a heart shaped picture frame, a fluffy animal, a book of love, a heart shaped locket. A Valentine's day gift certificate, and if you're well acquainted maybe lingerie.

A candlelight dinner makes a very romantic Valentine's day gift. Soft lights, mood music and a romantic video. This is something you should prepare yourself, because you've taken the time this will show how much you care and will create a lasting Valentine's day memory.

An alternative Valentine's day occasion could be a night out dining and dancing or going to a special show. An unusual idea might be an helicopter ride with aerial photo's to keep the memory or a drive around your area in a stretch limo with champagne and chocolates.

The proposal of marriage is a very romantic declaration of love. The most traditional proposal is presenting a beautiful ring while down on one knee. Or at your favourite restaurant you could have the ring presented on a heart shaped cushion... How romantic!

I've read that Valentine's Day weddings are very popular, it becomes a double celebration. Making your vows of love on the day associated with love is extremely romantic. Sometimes couples are blessed with more love upon the miracle of a Valentine's Day baby, what a treasure.

St. Valentine's Day is for true love and romance for everyone. Make it memorable for you and your partner, a beautiful bouquet of shiny metallic balloons that say 'I Love You' If it's your wedding day, here's a gift for you to use... 'I think about you constantly, you are my rock, my lifeline, our wedding will only last one day, our marriage will last a lifetime, - 20897
